A Gathering of Fiber Artists

About Fiber Revival

The Fiber Revival gathering, established in 2007, is an annual event that brings together passionate fiber artists from all around the region. Held in the picturesque coastal town of Newbury, Massachusetts, at the Spencer-Peirce-Little Farm, this gathering has become a highly anticipated occasion for both local and visiting fiber enthusiasts. The event usually takes place on a bright and breezy summer day, embracing the idyllic charm of the New England coastline. The gathering typically begins early in the morning, with attendees arriving at the Farm that has been transformed into a haven for fiber artists. The venue, has many fiber vendors set up with fiber to spin, yarn to knit and crochet, spindles to spin with, and project bags to protect fiber projects, creating an ambiance of creativity and camaraderie.

Throughout the day, workshops are scheduled to cater to the diverse interests of fiber artists. Workshops may include hands-on demonstrations of various fiber arts techniques such as knitting, crocheting, spinning, weaving, and even dyeing. Expert instructors and local artisans lead these workshops, sharing their knowledge and fostering a sense of learning and skill-sharing among participants. In addition to the workshops, there are booths where attendees can explore and purchase a wide array of fiber-related supplies, materials, and tools. Local vendors and artisans set up stalls showcasing beautifully hand-dyed yarns, unique fiber blends, handmade wooden knitting needles, and exquisitely crafted looms. As the day progresses, participants have the opportunity to connect with fellow fiber enthusiasts, exchange ideas, and showcase their own creations. Amidst the excitement and creative energy, a lunch is usually arranged, allowing attendees to share a meal and bond over their shared passion for fiber arts. Participants gather in groups, engaging in lively discussions about their projects, techniques, and personal experiences.

As the day comes to an end, participants reflect on the connections made, the skills learned, and the inspiration gained. The Fiber Revival Gathering has not only established itself as an annual tradition but has also woven a tapestry of friendships, creativity, and shared experiences that continue to flourish year after year.
